Fabio Bartolai started working out with Dave over two and a half years ago and it has transformed the way he looks at fitness and exercise.
“I used to think paying for a trainer was ridiculous,” he said. “There is enough information out there. I was incredibly surprised how little I actually knew. [It] opened my eyes to the overall value. I absolutely recommend or encourage anyone, new or looking for a change, to seek out a trainer. What I learn is completely invaluable. It’s night & day.”
Mr. Bartolai’s goals started out fairly typical of what we would expect for a gym member. Lose body fat and gain lean muscle. However, what he received in addition to working towards those ends surprised him. The social component of working out at Focus Fitness has become one of the benefits that keeps Fabio coming back week after week. “It’s a relaxed, fun atmosphere. I feel like I’m working out with my friend. I need a place like this at this point in my life. There is a social component. I’m stressed with work. I don’t have a lot of time for workouts.”
Fabio has tried various styles of workout over the years and has found that coming to a private studio with people he can trust makes all the difference in reaching the goals he set for himself.
“I know there are different schools of thought, but this style – the routine, program, setting goals, conditioning, as you age, with the time you have – makes a huge difference. I can see myself getting stronger and exercises getting easier. I move faster and more efficiently.” Agility and strength as we age can be harder and harder to come by but having a truly customized program written by an experienced professional who knows you is a huge step in increasing your rate of success.
One of the best things about having fitness as a long term goal is when other people start to notice. It’s great to feel strong and healthy but it certainly makes us all smile when our family and peers remark on it.
“People know that I workout and train,” Fabio said. “They ask about it. That’s nice.”
