Frequently Asked Questions
Many new members tell us that joining a fitness facility can be both exciting and intimidating. Here are some of the most common questions members ask during their first month or two with us. If you have a question not included here, or want help getting started, simply ask the first staff member you see. We’re all here to help you.
How often should I workout?
It depends on your goals. Although we recommend some kind of movement almost every day, most of our members find they get the best results with at least four workouts per week that include two to three strength training and one to two intense metabolic (cardio) sessions. Remember, a good workout will include a balance of conditioning, strength work, and recovery.
When can I come workout?
Coached sessions are by appointment during the following hours:
Monday – Thursday: 6:30am-12:30pm, 4:30-8:30pm
Friday: 6:30am-12:30pm
Saturday: 8am-12pm
How do I set-up appointments for my workouts?
Just give us a call or stop by our front desk. Semi-private training makes it easy to accommodate your schedule and its changes. During your initial appointment, your coach will set up your weekly training schedule. You can set up future sessions with our front desk staff before you leave or you can give us a call. Appointments can also be scheduled on a recurring basis. If you can’t keep a scheduled appointment, please call as soon as possible so we can reschedule both you and your fitness coach. We’ll also send you email reminders so you never forget about your next session.
How do I keep from getting bored with my program?
We understand. We enjoy mixing things up, too! But realize that random workouts create random results. That’s because your body needs 6-8 exposures to a movement in order to improve and get stronger with time. We factor that in when we design your program, and include the optimal length, frequency, and type of workout to make sure you reach your goals and don’t get bored. And working out with a small group keeps things interesting, too.
How do I use my fitness coaching sessions each month?
Your membership agreement provides you with a specific number of coaching sessions each month. Sessions must be used within the month and do not carry over. We make every effort to make sure you use your coaching sessions. We also know unexpected things happen from time to time, so ask us about our policy in the event you need an extended leave. Also if you need a few extra sessions, we can accommodate that, too.
What do I do when I arrive for a training session?
Just say hi and then grab a foam roller to start your warm-up. If your coach has asked you to come in to take measurements, do that first and start your warm-up when you finish. As always, if you have questions, just ask.
How do I learn how to use the equipment?
That’s the beauty of coaching. With each new program, your first few sessions will focus on learning the equipment you’ll be using at this stage. And anytime you have a question about a piece of equipment, just ask any of the staff. We’ll be happy to help you!
